GENERAL DISCRIPTION
Field Safety Representative
The Site Safety Representative is responsible for promoting and ensuring site safety and has a comprehensive knowledge for the day to day safety field operations for assigned tasks including planning, coordinating, and communicating safety regulations while serving as the company’s point of contact.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide New Hire Orientation
Provide ongoing Training Material/Q&A’s for identified hazards
Perform daily ongoing site safety inspections
Conduct/distribute safety/tailgate meetings
Manage all site safety documents
Ensure that site safety requirements are followed
Ensure that supervisors complete their daily pre-shift inspections
Ensure that supervisors completed JHA’s for hazardous task assigned
Inform client and Smith & Associates of Near Miss and Accidents
Gather information regarding Near Miss and Accidents for reporting
Coordinate medical facility notification for injured workers
When applicable provide drug screening (Drug Screening Training Available)
If applicable facilitate the clients “Return to Work Program”
If you do not have the requested certifications but have a minimum of 2 years construction experience and have basic administration skills, OSHA and/or MSHA knowledge and would be capable of providing the requested duties you are encouraged to apply. EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
5 Years Construction Experience
OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification
First Aid/CPR Current Certification
Computer: Use of Outlook or any other computer programs a plus
Other safety related certifications a plus (CSP, CHST, CSMP, CESCO, CRIS)
Possession of a valid driver license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of other construction hazards. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
